How do the new Volt programs work?
Volt programs have been completely redesigned to be smarter and more flexible than ever. Every program is now built around your schedule — you choose how often you train, how long each session lasts, how you split your training, and which activities show up each day. Then Cortex® builds a program that progresses you toward your goals.
About the New Programs
Volt’s classic programs gave you an expert-built training plan with a predefined structure. New Volt programs keep that structure and science, but give you more control over how your program is built.
You can customize your training schedule, session length, training style, activities, and more — then preview everything before your program begins.
Customize Duration, Days Per Week, and More
Only have 30 minutes to train? No problem.
New Volt programs give you more ways to make training fit your life. Customize your days per week, session length, training split, training style, and more.

You also have more control over your program timeline. If you’re training for a season, Volt will structure your plan around your season dates. Otherwise, choose how many weeks you want to train — up to 24.
When your program ends, you can start it again or choose something new.
Choose Your Activities
Want more from your training than just a workout?
Classic Volt programs centered each training day around a workout. New programs can combine multiple activities — like Warm-Ups, Primers, Workouts, Finishers, and Conditioning — into a complete day of training.
We call this your Training Stack.
Choose the activities you want included across your program, or customize individual days for more variety. As you add or remove activities, Volt automatically adjusts your training to fit your selected session length.
Want to see what that looks like? Preview your training week before you build your program.

And yes, you can give your program a custom name. Emojis encouraged. 🚨

FAQ
What session length options does Volt offer?
Choose from 3 duration options: 30-45 minutes, 45-60 minutes, or 60-90 minutes. Each option is based on the estimated duration for the activities prescribed in your program, and may be shorter or longer depending on factors like rest time, equipment setup, and your own individual pace.
What days per week options does Volt offer?
Customize your program with two to six training days per week. Each program is designed so that all training days complement each other and progress from week to week — keeping your program perfectly balanced, no matter how many days you choose.
Do all programs come with the same options?
All programs offer the same session length, days per week, and supersets (how your movements are grouped within workouts) options. Other options — like position, event, training split, etc. — are specific to some programs.
What are the different activity types?
New Volt programs can combine up to five activity types into each training day. Your Workout is the primary strength training session, while other activities help you prepare, add targeted work, or build conditioning.
- 🔥 Warm-Ups — Prepare your body to move with dynamic mobility and movement prep.
- 🎯 Primers — Targeted prep for the mobility, stability, or power you’ll need in your Workout.
- ⚡ Workouts — Your primary strength training session, progressively built around your program goals.
- 🏁 Finishers — Targeted work after your Workout to build muscle, endurance, core strength, or mobility.
- ⏱️ Conditioning — Interval-based training designed to build cardiovascular fitness and work capacity. Use any cardio machine or run outdoors.
How does this impact my selected session length?
Volt builds your activities to fit within your selected session length. As you add activities, Volt automatically adjusts the length of your primary Workout to make room for them.
More activities = less time in your Workout, not a longer training session.
Should I include all 5 activity types, every training day?
Not necessarily. Volt recommends activities based on your program and selected session length, but you can add or remove them to build the training day that works for you.
Keep in mind: adding more activities means less time in your primary Workout.
What if I want to do different activities on each training day?
You can! Tap Customize by day to choose different activities for each day of your training week. Only want Conditioning on Days 2 and 4? No problem.
Can I preview any Volt program?
Yes. Every new program has an Overview where you can see what the program is designed to develop, how it’s structured, and what’s included before you start. Explore as many as you’d like to find the right fit.
What if I don’t see my sport?
We’re constantly adding new programs. If you don’t see your sport, activity, or training goal, let us know at feedback@voltathletics.com. We read every email.
I love my current program. Do I have to switch to a new one?
No. Keep training with the program you love. When you’re ready to try something new, the redesigned programs will be waiting — with more ways to customize your training to fit your goals, schedule, and preferences.
