If a workout calls for equipment you don't have, Cortex® swaps in a similar movement. Sets, reps, and schedule stay the same. No cable machine? No problem. ### Choose how your program handles equipment Open any program and go to the **Equipment** tab. You'll see two options: - **Use each athlete's equipment** — Workouts adapt to the equipment each athlete has available. Athletes without equipment settings use the program's prescribed equipment. - **Use one equipment profile** — Workouts adapt to the same equipment for everyone on the program, overriding individual equipment settings. ![Equip\_Profiles\_-\_Empty](https://help.voltathletics.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Equip_Profiles_-_Empty.png?width=670&height=372&name=Equip_Profiles_-_Empty.png) ### How to create and apply an equipment profile 1. Open your program and go to the **Equipment** tab. 2. Select **Use one equipment profile**. 3. Click **Create Profile**. 4. Give your profile a name, like "Main Weight Room" or "Travel Week." 5. Toggle on the equipment you have available. 6. Click **Save**. No. Equipment profiles work like a filter. Volt removes movements that call for equipment you *don't* have and swaps in similar ones. Turning equipment on won't add new movements to your program. ### Will applying a profile change the rest of my program? No. Only movements that need unavailable equipment are swapped. Sets, reps, and your training schedule stay the same. ### What happens when I duplicate a program? The duplicate keeps the same equipment profile as the original. You can change it on the new program's **Equipment** tab. ### How do I go back to my athletes' own equipment settings? On the program's **Equipment** tab, select **Use each athlete's equipment**. ### Why can't I change the equipment settings on a program? You need edit permissions for that program.
